RENEW- WORLD’S FIRST ECO-FRIENDLY PHONE BY MOTOROLA
Motorola new Eco-friendly phone RENEW, is set to roll in 2009, the device components are all made from plastic taken from recycled water bottle , is said to make a debut at 2009 international consumer electronics show at Las Vegas.
Motorola has made an alliance with corbonfurd.org to offset the carbon-dioxide required to manufacture , distribute and operate the phone through investments in renewable energy sources and reforestation . RENEW- the first carbon neutral phone, got certified from carbonfund.org as the first carbon free product ,after a product recycle assessment . It will be available at T-Mobile USA in Q1 2009.
The phone is reduced by 22 percent , box and all the contents inside is made from 100 percent-post-consumer recycled paper and also they have included a postage-paid recycling envelop in the box, makes it easy to return for recycling . features include a 2gb expandable memory and a 128 x 128 65K CSTN display (1.6″) (user removable front housing) .
